Alfombras Art Education Program is a collaboration between the Master of Art Education Program
and The Mesoamerica Center.

Antigua, Guatemala is famous for its elaborate religious festivities  leading up to Easter. A group of UT Master of Art Education students spent 10 days in Casa Herrera during the Holy Week celebration engaging in lectures, field trips and the ancient tradition of "alfombra" making. The students experience a once in a lifetime opportunity of cultural immersion and art education.
